Our Mission

Communicators of Christ

“No boundaries exist for a Pauline. We belong to a prophetic, open, universal and missionary congregation. Apostles are needed, apostles whose hearts are filled with the love for God, yearning to do good to all people by bringing them the Word of truth and salvation” (Ven. Thecla Merlo)

The Objective

Our Pauline Mission  is to spread the Gospel using the means of social communication and all the means that the modern technology of communication invents. Our boundaries are the boundaries of the world. At the moment we are present in 55 different countries. In Africa we are present in fourteen countries, namely: Angola, D.R. Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, South-Sudan and Malawi. We go everywhere from one country to another, making Christ known and loved as St Paul did. We run book and media centres, organise book and audiovisual exhibitions in parishes and schools, and also participate in national, and international book fairs.

The Book and Media Centre is the distribution centre of all the initiatives of Paulines apostolate .
• Paulines Book and Media Centres are centres open to the public as a means of apostolate, from which rays of light and grace to enlighten and animate people spread
• It is Gods publishing House
• The Book and Media Centre is a church
• The person behind the counter, which is a pulpit of truth, is a preacher
• The products people are looking for are enlightenment, holiness and joy in Jesus Christ, and a Christian life
(Cf . Blessed Fr James Alberione)

Our Book and Media Centres are centres of apostolate:

• They are not shops, but a service to the faithful.
• Not sales, but apostolate through offerings .
• They do not have customers but cooperators.
• They are not businesses, but centres of light and fervour in Jesus Christ.
• Their aim is not profit, but to serve the Church and people .
• They do not exploit people but are of service to them.

Aspects of our mission

Our Book Centres are places where people seek enlightement, holiness and joy in Jesus Christ. A temple where we seek to take care of souls, to do good for them.(Blessed James Alberione)

We publish books and audio-visuals based on the bible, Catechesis, teaching of the Church. Our publication covers a wide spectrum, ranging from human formation to catechesis, from patristics to spirituality, from biblical to pastoral, from liturgy to the magisterium, from psychology to narrative. We accompany every age, fit into the heart of the Church, of every civil and ecclesial community, and of every family.

We participate in national and international book fairs; we hold book and audiovisual displays in schools, parishes and in conjunction with various meetings and ecclesial/cultural events. With joy and apostolic passion, we distribute material to help people grow on the human and spiritual aspects.

The top priority of the Pauline apostolate is to promote and proclaim the Word of God. As Daughters of St Paul, we are called to make the truths and the teaching of the Church our own; to present them to souls with the word and with technical means aiming at souls. Therefore, we organize bible days in various parishes. We also carry out other animation activities for specific occasions to foster the formation of pastoral workers, communicators and all those to whom we direct our message.

"Print is the greatest power for the formation of public opinion. It is the mightiest means for the diffusion of culture, knowledge, and faith. It is the most efficacious weapon for universal apostolate." (Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Pauline Family)

Audio Visual

The Daughters of St. Paul are committed to create and offer audio and video productions of a religious, formative and educational character, through diverse platforms and media.

By engaging in a continuous exploration and research for new forms of apostolate, the Daughters of St Paul have seen a great development in the digital world and the Internet. In this regard, many initiatives were launched like the Pauline Online stores, various digital productions like newsletters and magazines, apps, e-books, etc.
